“Film star and reigning King of Monsters Godzilla, 61, has finally been recognized as a citizen of Japan, Anime News Network reports.

After living in the country for more than half a century, the atomic immigrant was awarded honorary citizenship by Tokyo’s Shinjuku ward earlier this year. According to ANN, however, Godzilla’s paperwork was only finalized last week.

“Godzilla is a character that is the pride of Japan,” Shinjuku Mayor Kenichi Yoshizumi said of the reptilian sexagenarian at a special ceremony in April.

In addition to becoming a citizen of the ward, Godzilla will reportedly serve as Shinjuku’s tourism ambassador.”

Artist Charuca Vargas

I love her work!! She is easily one of the best kawaii artists out there on the scene!!!

“This is my motto: Whatever you do, do it with love.”

“I’m an artist based in Barcelona (Spain). I create characters and cute designs since I can remember. When I was a child I used to create my dolls, taking my mum’s sewing tools. When I was 20 I worked in a printing store. It was a dreamed work for me because I printed my design and then I make my notebooks collections to sale to my friends and the friends of my friends. I was mad about stationery (I am still mad about it). I dreamed some day my stationery collections could be sold in stores besides Snoopy or Hello Kitty.”
